    Hi there,

We have a small Cuisenaire Rod set and have purchased our books from Currclick to save postage as we are from Australia. For those of you that know the programme well, what resources are a must have and are there any extras that are helpful? I was wondering what size CR set is best to have? I was thinking a larger set, using with two children and one older learner.

We have used a CR booklet for a few weeks and dd really enjoys using the rods and learning this way, hence I looked for a CR based approach and found Miquon. I am very glad I can start from the beginning with dd.

This might be a strange question but are there any other resources (along the CR or Miquon lines) that are geared to older students?

    kindest Regards, Nell

    HI Nell,

I am a big fan of having more manipulatives–whether you are homeschooling one child or multiple children, the more hands-on manipulatives readily available make learning more natural and fun. The “bucket of Cuisenaire Rods” an excellent option to have more manipulatives “on hand”www.rainbowresource.com/product/Cuisenai…ect=10&category=2352

As far as similar philosophy for teaching math to older students, you may wish to look at the Hands-On Equations program.

Would love to hear from others with Cuisenaire Experience!
